This cab had a few issues getting in the way of a Cinderella makeover. However, no challenge is too big. Since the cab had weight limitations, we used a “direct-applied” approach. Meaning, we adhered the finishes directly to the cab shell, eliminating the need for heavier substrates.
The cab also had a light cove that was part of the cab’s structure. This meant it couldn’t be removed without a lot of labor and cost. Our solution – install an inset ceiling with LED downlights and paint the cove black. This is a great solution and achieved fantastic results. The black-painted cove recedes into the shadows.
The material selection was limited to plastic laminate and two types of stainless steel. We helped our customer choose durable Starbright stainless steel for the lower panels and standard #4 (satin) stainless steel for the other trim elements. The floor is graced with durable luxury vinyl tile with a wood grain pattern.
