As with many of our projects, the elevator interior became a part of an overall lobby renovation.
The design goal was a fresh elevator interior that complemented the new lobby. Additionally, the design needed to address the standard daily use, which, in the elevator interior world, means abuse. UEI worked closely with the building owner to help maximize the aesthetic within the allowable budget.
The upper sidewall panels are finished with high-pressure laminate, while the upper back wall is finished with a polymer interlayer. Both products are quite durable. The lower panels are finished with Starbright stainless steel, a highly scratch-resistant material that is perfectly at home as a lower panel.
